What Is Publishing Administration? A Plain-English Guide
Publishing administration is the back-office work of registering and collecting publishing royalties. How it differs from a deal, self-admin, and a PRO.
Administration is a service agreement. A publishing deal is an ownership deal. Self-admin is you logging into every society yourself. A PRO is one society in one country for one type of royalty.
Most independent writers need administration, not a deal. They already have (or should have) a PRO. They do not have time to file CWR with 225 societies.
