Beat Producer Publishing Splits: Who Owns What
A beat is a composition. What that means for producer splits, why a lease isn't a split sheet, and how to register the work correctly.
If a producer created original melody, harmony, or lyrics, they are a co-writer. A beat lease that sells the master is not a publishing split. Registering the topliner at 100% will eventually collide with the producer's registration.
